New Ways in Learning
The Annual Conference of the Hungarian Eucational Research Association (HuCER 2016)
A completely new perspective and research strand has been introduced in education and educational research in the early nineties with the shift from teaching to learning. Since then parallel to the scenes of formal learning new forms of non-formal and informal learning has been recognized and institutionalized. The emerging forms, practices and means of learning in turn shaped teaching practices at schools.
In a time when Europe has to face unexpected cultural challenges the scope and applicability of the new dimensions of learning–formal and non-formal, workplace and leisure-time, individual and collective learning–has gained priorities. The transformative power of learning from community to cultural learning activites has been proved, as it effectively socialises people into values and dispositions that are the result of shared historical experiences, and which in turn promote a sense of belonging (Cultural Learning Alliance 2011).
The HuCER 2016 in Kaposvár aims to stimulate reflection on different forms of learning and generate scholarly discussions about the roles taken by the educational and cultural institutions in order to reinforce the European and local identity. HuCER will be bilingual (Hungarian and English) with an English keynote and section for European participants.
Keynote Speaker:
