Learning society: Educational research during an epidemic
The new decade greeted us with a pandemic. It shattered our everyday lives, our usual social life. A health emergency has been introduced and schools were ordered to close, and education was suddenly confronted with a new reality: it has become necessary to study and teach at home, using the opportunities offered by the Internet as well. This has been a huge challenge for students, parents, teachers and society as a whole, as they had to switch from attending classes to online learning almost within days, from kindergartens to higher education. Both students and teachers had to learn to use new digital tools, to master a new teaching methodology, which resulted a number of innovative solutions. How effective, efficient, and accessible these solutions are to all students needs to be addressed through sound research. With all this in mind, we look forward to presentations at the HuCER 2021 conference that show how the learning society can adapt to changed circumstances through a study of modern teaching and learning processes, based on a wide range of educational research methods.
